When using VoimanPolu, the guideline is “You can't correct in strength training”. In practice, this means progressing from basic and basic training to strength training bar techniques and from there to combination training and sport-specific strength training.
The use of the application and the recommended progress of the training has been facilitated by the following color coding:
GREEN = Basic Exercises
Basic training units are especially suitable for athletes and athletes who start strength training. In the Basic Mobility and Body Management sections, you will find tests to look at mobility and control. Successful completion of these tests will ensure safe progression toward mid-level exercises.
BLUE = Intermediate exercises
Intermediate exercises require mastery of basic exercises and also the performance of tests within the mobility section. At the middle level, for example, there are training units that develop side-pulling, grabbing, lower limb strength, etc. in the bar techniques sections. There are different areas of strength and different training models in training planning.
RED COLOR = Upper level exercises
The upper level includes sport-specific strength exercises as well as the strength path of the different sports as a whole. Sport-specific strength exercises are a training bank from which each coach can create the best whole for the goal.
The VoimanPolku application was created as part of the Varala Sports College's strength training on the athlete's path development project, which was implemented in 2014-2016. The project has been financially supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
