07/10/20: A good app for measuring ambient noise levels, but there's no way to save the data for later analysis. Most smartphones today have more than ample memory capacity to store data history. 4 hours is a good length for storing data. This glaring insufficiency needs to be addressed. For this reason, I rate the app 3 stars. UPDATE 12/24/23: No significant improvement, other than more color options & a bar graph added. Still no option for saving data, which is much needed. Upped to 4 stars.

Best meter I've tried. You can zero the meter to adjust for constant ambient sound or the lack thereof the same way you set a weight scale to zero when there isn't anything on it. This allows measuring how many decibels are produced by equipment or the quality of sounds insulation. So far the Ads are reduced to small notification bars at the top of the screen rather than the paralyzing full screen ads that are hard to close used by other apps.

I lime the ability to stop and start scanning/recording noises but there does not appear to be a method to save it. I also understand advertising makes the program free for us to use - for a free app these are fairly painless - but I'd like the opportunity to pay for a license to get rid of the adds. Also, just for nice-nice - I would like a graph showing the levels of sound, when it becomes painful, etc. Otherwise it works great - and I appreciate the obvious work that went into the coding. 🤜
