About this app

Can I have an occasional drink while breastfeeding? How does alcohol affect breastmilk? How long should I wait after having a drink, before I breastfeed?

Feed Safe is based on up-to-date research and official New Zealand recommendations from the Ministry of Health. It has been made available to kiwi mums by WellSouth Primary Health Network.

It's a great idea but would be more practical if you could put in what you actually drank rather than units of 1 standard drink. For example 1 standard drink of wine is 100ml but the standard pour in a bar is 150ml so you should be able to add 1.5 drinks to this app but you can't so people are likely to accidentally underestimate when they can feed again

Great idea, but I can't seem to go above 6 standard drinks. Also, most drinks are served in mls and percentage so don't always know the standard drink to put in

Love all the extra information that comes with this app as well as the timer. I turned the timer alert off & it still went off at 2 am & woke my baby so unsure if this is a fault or not? That's the only negative I can think of.
