VicTraffic is the official traffic app from VicRoads.
The app stays up to date by automatically downloading new content when it is available.
Road Closures and Traffic Alerts are generally uploaded to the application during peak traffic periods of Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 6:45pm and after hours during significant emergency events.
Details include location, impacts and any special instructions such as detours.
Pre-planned interruptions such as Roadwork’s and Events are available up to 48 hours in advance.
Freeway travel times and live traffic camera images from around Melbourne provide you with a live image of how traffic is looking there and then.

Being able to save favorite routes was easily the best feature. Now that's gone, it's just a prettier version of the ancient webpage. In an emergency, it would be really handy to be able to search for your destination so you can see what's open or impacted along the route. Now you have to manually spend time navigating the map to find anything, which on a phone isn't ideal. App has gone backwards.

It's simply staggering how terrible this is. The map does not even respond to being dragged or zoomed. It just does nothing. Have to tap and try dragging it 6 or 7 times before it will finally respond one time. Then to move the map again or zoom in further you have to try another 6 or 7 times to get it to respond. I can't understand how it is even possible to make something this bad an unusable even if you were TRYING to...

Used to be a great app .. could save certain travel times as favourites so one doesn't have to scroll through the list to find what one is looking for. That was a really good feature! Find the current app hard to use. Target area for menu is too small ... And the removal of the favourites was a big step backwards me think.

The VicTraffic application is being decommissioned. The aim of this update is to direct the users to the website away from the application. All of the existing functionality, and more, is available via the web link.
