Sumário Hereford & Braford

The Geneplus Embrapa Program is a service technology that assists the designer in the definition, implementation and utilization of genetic resources of his flock in order to maximize their production. The technology has been well defined and is characterized by the constant interaction of the program's technical and advised farms. The concept is that the improvement of practice does not follow with the genetic evaluation. It is necessary to outline an appropriate work plan and mainly apply the results, correcting where necessary.

The report, presented here, is the result of genetic evaluation using the data of the characteristics related to the production and reproduction of progeny of bulls of Hereford and Braford breeds, obtained from the PampaPlus Program database of the Brazilian Association of Hereford and Braford ( ABHB) conducted in assisted farms.

This review was conducted using data related to weights (at birth, weaning and yearling), post-weaning weight gain, scrotal circumference measurements, muscle scores, height, body structure, navel and pigmentation and eye protection progenies, and the weight of the cow and its body condition at weaning. Based on these data, the weights at weaning were calculated (205 days) and yearling (550 days), gain post-weaning weight, the weight of the mother and her body condition at weaning of their offspring and scrotal circumference yearling, and also consider the birth weight, the muscles scores, height, body structure, navel and pigmentation and eye protection yearling.

They were spoken before the expected progeny differences (EPDs) for both the direct effect and for the maternal effect, when relevant. This time participated in the evaluation 1,244 players, being selected 1,199 of Hereford and Braford breeds for presentation in this environment. Many of the bulls of this relationship may not be available yet, were kept all the animals to the overall assessment.

This application has search capabilities and levels of tests, as well as the use of filters considering the estimates of EPDs and accuracies, period of birth, children in recent years and the number of herds with children. In addition, there is the presentation of data in various formats, such as graphics.
