Saying it's the best service I've ever used may seem extreme, but it really isn't. Been using this for a couple years now, and acting on the info I get from it has led to positive changes in my life. It's pretty simple to set up and not time consuming to log anything. Easy for those less technically-inclined, powerful for those more so. Also, if you can code, it's easy to use their API. The devs are very transparent about their plans and their support is really good - which is impressive, they're the same 2 people that develop it!

Before downloading this app, I had a hard time keeping a journal or daily mood rating because I knew I'd never reference it. Exist isn't perfect, but it's the most useful system I've found. The Fitbit integration, mood rating, and a few custom tags are enough to find useful correlations. For example, my mood is better on days after I sleep less, which was completely unexpected. The reason was subtle and took some reflection to find. I've since avoided sleeping in, and putting extra effort into self-care when I need to, resulting in a small but noticeable benefit. Adjustments like this would be impossible to make if they weren't properly informed, and there's no better way than to track metrics quantitatively. A few caveats: If you're a statistics fanatic, this app doesn't give you r^2 values or allow you to control for certain variables (yet). On the flip side, since correlation doesn't imply causation, the app doesn't give you insight for free either. I couldn't just limit myself to 5 hours of sleep every night and expect my mood to improve. The interface is solid, especially considering the challenge of presenting so much data without becoming cluttered; and the developers are committed. Overall, Exist has been well worth it, and would only be displaced if another service matches it and adds powerful features like IFTTT support and causal discovery algorithms that it is unlikely to have.

I've used Exist 3+ years. ❤️ It ‼️ if you have any issues, you can rely on great customer support. Android isn't a monolith like iOS. Some things that happen with one manufacturer's update that might not with other manufacturer's. OnePlus made an update that created a bug that Exist helped fix. Works with Rescue Time, IOS systems if you use both, your fitness tracker and has daily ability to tag daily events and make notes. It's useful and I love it!
