About this app

This Lent Bible study contains 40 days of Bible readings, reflections and prayers that will take you on a spiritual journey into the wilderness.

Into the Desert combines Australian history and literature with the centuries old wisdom of Desert monasticism.

Perfect for a Lent Study group or for individual reflection any time of the year. Into the Desert is written by Celia Kemp. For more information see www.intothedesert.org

NOTE that the app navigation menu was designed for a previous android version that did not display phone menu buttons at the bottom of the screen. You will need to work around this by using the TOP section of the navigation buttons within the app.

This app is a great blend of Scripture, quotes and prayer prompts. The daily readings are short enough to easily assimilate into my devotional time. Two cons: I would like the ability to schedule the notification reminders to coincide with my regular devotional time. Also, the app pops up a notification on Sunday. Sundays are outside Lent because they are mini-Easters. Other than these two minor complaints, it's a great app and I might use it next year too.

I like this app, it has proved thought-provoking, but there are a couple of issues I wish they would change. First, if I swipe I do not go between screens but between days. It would be much more useful to go between screens on the same day. Second, down at the bottom where you can change screens between "sayings" and "pray" and so forth, it is at the same spot as my phone's navigation, so I end up pushing "home" instead of sayings three or four times before I get just the right spot.

Great content but technically tricky. Having the sayings and prayer tabs at the bottom, where my back button is, means I keep coming out of the app every time I try to look at them. Please could you move them elsewhere on the page. Love the look of the page otherwise, and appreciate the wisdom in it. Thank you.
