Am I Running Linux? is free software; you may use, copy, modify, and redistribute it under the terms of the X11 License. The source code is available at https://code.s.zeid.me/amirunninglinux.apk (this app) and https://code.s.zeid.me/amirunninglinux.com (the Web site). Permissions:

• Full network access: This app is a single-site browser for https://amirunninglinux.com/, and as such, it needs to access the Internet to be able to display the site. This permission is not used for anything else, and you can verify that by viewing the source code (see above).

Tried at the same time on 2 different phones (one with Linux and one without) and both came up saying "yes you are running Linux!

license? X11? Did you mean GPL 1 or later? If you are using Android you infact are using the Linux Kernel.

The X11 License is just the MIT License with an extra clause that says you can't use my name for advertising or promotional purposes. Also, I do know that all Android devices use the Linux kernel. This app was intended to be a joke.
