There are no annoying ads (the repeated demands for review were more obtrusive than the ad space), but it lacks features like autopencil and autocheck that would be helpful to new players. The explanation section lacks a table of contents, so you have to scroll through all content every time. All that said, if you're not actually a new learner and just want a LOT of puzzles, for free, organized by difficulty, without lengthy/disruptive ads, this won't make you mad. Three solid stars for that.

I love the tutorials but it could be more helpful: Other apps highlight the locations of the number you have selected, highlight the row, column, and block you're in. None of that happens here. I expected there to be controls that would point out errors that you've made as you go along that you could turn off as you get better, but it allows you to make mistakes that lead you into situations that make you feel hopelessly lost.

This is the perfect Sudoku app. It is the closest to playing for real - no cheating! But what I like most about it are the puzzles. These are not random, computer generated puzzles. These were designed to be fun and somehow elegant. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I certainly can tell the difference. There are no intrusive ads, you can adjust the settings to make it how you like. I have played many different apps, but have stuck with this one exclusively for the past two years.
