Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805 in Odense, on the island of Funen, Denmark. His father in time it passed was working shoemaker, to live his family. But, unable endure poverty, died very young, leaving his son the Hans orphan, with his mother for breadwinners.
Hans was a curious child with a great imagination. Many times they saw him walking on the street as a dreamer and his mind had nowhere else except in poetry and reading. Unfairly tried to learn the art of his father. When he finished school for needy children joined a raftadiko to learn the craft, nor there with the ball. The interest earned theater, where memorizing entire scenes from the works he saw. When he was with his friends, he liked to recite and sing. He was fourteen years old when, chasing a better life, arrived in Copenhagen, with only 30 francs of assets in order to become an actor. He examinations at the Royal School of theater, but it was so ugly and skinny, not accepted him ...
