About this app

At Curzon, we open your eyes to new worlds and new ways of seeing, so step inside our virtual cinema and discover something original. Curzon has been showing films since 1934, and we like to think we know what makes a good movie, so you can spend less time choosing what to watch and more time enjoying life-changing films.

As well as selected new films often available simultaneously as they are in cinemas, there are collections, film festivals, and other partner events bringing together a comprehensive catalogue of award-winning and thought-provoking films.

You’ll find restored English-language classics, foreign-language films from the 1960s, new wave to new voices in cinema, period dramas to sci-fi and slow-burn to thrill-seeking. Whatever your taste, our breadth of choice will leave you breathless with anticipation, so please join us, this community of film lovers.

Very glitchy and temperamental app! Films just saved in my watchlist, not in row. When I go to add them again they're saved?! No button to access full list. I pick something to watch but my credits are missing, then they reappear when i don't want to watch anything. Why isn't home cinema connected with the main site?? or why, after a year and a half+,isn't the app back on Samsung TVs?!! Watching on smaller devices takes away from the "Home Cinema" experience. Plus film release dates not listed!

The app is great, they made so many improvements and I have not had any major issues mentioned by other people here. Lots of films you can't find anywhere else (even some that are being currently played in cinemas) and if you're a movie lover, their membership is great because you can use it to get discounts and free films both on streaming and in cinemas. Unique movie selection and the fact I can support indie cinema make up for any minor hiccups in functionality.

Rented About Endlessness, streaming through a new Chromecast. Streaming issues aside, this would be a 5* review: in terms of content, Curzon has lots of good things to offer and I want to support them in what they do. But every so often a scene would start blurry, an effect which would last a second or so. Didn't affect my enjoyment too much for this particular film (since it's mostly a sequence of separate, still, long shots), but for others I think this would be very off-putting.

Hi Jamie. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We're really sorry to hear about your playback experience. We have now released a brand new version of the app (4.4.38), which addresses these bugs, as well as adding new features such as in-app purchasing. We hope you'll give our brand new app a go.
