By using this app, you realize that you have been thoroughly pranked and that if you were classified something as a type of ant and took the time to figure out more information, you have not actually found an ant but have helped your friend find out that you are a gullible person. I made an attempt to make this a legitimate app, but my training set was too small.

Some may rate this app low without taking time to improve the chance of identjfication. Here is what I learned. This app starts in camera mode. I had my ant samples ready when starting the app. Pay close attention to the bottom of the phone (portrait view) as you slowly and steadily move the camera lens closer. As soon as ther is a match, there will be a momentary identification of the ant type at the bottom of the photo. I had to repeat 3 times and the last 2 times came up with the same result.

App does work, but not on moving ants. Used photos of known species of type handled by the app as a control, tested around the exterior of the house on moving and stationary subjects up close and at a distance. For best results, imobilize the subject and get the camera in as close as possible to get results. Nice start, would recommend the ability to take photos to assist in identidication (as long as shutter is fast enough).
