It regularly fails to set the temperature. I will drag the temperature to 50 degrees and then (often without me noticing) it will just ping back to the off position. Same the other way around. I've had the dregs of a coffee cooking for hours because it failed to register when I turned the heating down to the off position. The app isn't as bad as it could be. It works in general, but you have to keep an eye on it because it's so unreliable.

Update: Finally got it working in my Pixel 8pro. Edit: The app that keeps getting worse. This year I switched from Pixel 7 to Pixel 8pro and finally my Ember app worked. Until last night, when it got updated. Now it doesn't even open. I have gone through all the troubleshooting and it does not re-pair again. If anything works (turning off phone) it pairs and the moment you go away from the cup and come back it does not re-pair again. For such a premium price product, this is unacceptable.

I'm a developer and the blatant data scraping, AKA digging into your privacy in ways they have no reason to, is ridiculous. The app will not allow you to connect to the mug at all if you don't allow it access to your GPS location, and there is NO legitimate reason for this. It needs your Bluetooth permissions yes, but not the GPS and no, they are not linked. You can ask for them separately, we do it all the time at work. This practice is invasive at _best_, and feels extremely sketchy.
