About this app

London’s famous blue plaques link the people of the past with the buildings of the present. With this app, you can find plaques near you, learn more about your favourite figures from history and discover the unsung heroes from London’s past. Use GPS technology to walk in the footsteps of some of the capital’s most notable residents on themed tours through London’s historic streets.

Established in 1866, the official London blue plaques scheme has been run by English Heritage since 1986. The app includes all 900+ official plaques erected by English Heritage and their predecessors, but doesn’t include those put up by private organisations or local councils.

Guys, you're killing us. You have a very good app here but just one small thing would make all the difference in the world. Allow the app to have a function where we can turn a blue dot red for plaques we have already seen and the app saves that information permanently. It would make life so much easier for anyone interested in seeing them all.

The database doesn't include similar local plaques, for example, the Jim Marshall plaque in Ealing. It doesn't contain further information about the person. The app also requires internet connection to use the maps. It uses a lot of memory, but saving onto an external drive, i.e. a microSD card is not enabled. I will be uninstalling this app.

Seems to be broken at the moment. I've granted location permissions but it says they've not been granted and won't allow me to view the map. Also why can't I view the map without location permissions anyway??
