Thank you for raising the issue regarding the ESB Ecars mobile app, Ecar Connect. In relation to the distance to chargers being expressed in miles instead of km, to fix this, you can either change the language setting on your device from ‘English (UK)’ to ‘English (Ireland)’, or change the ‘distance unit’ to ‘kilometres’ in your navigation app (Google Maps for example).

Edit...call to ESB customer service during weekday fixed the issue. Account not set up properly. Eric in CS fixed the account and chargers visible again! Shows no charge points at all on the map. If I filter for 3rd party only, it shows them, but none of ESB's own chargers. Logging out of account allows you to see chargers in the app and pay over web interface as a one time payment.

It does exactly what you need it to do. Tells you where chargers are, if they're being used, if they're in use then when the person started using it, you can connect and pay through the app and can even connect with Google maps to bring you to the nearest charger and if you've got any problems theres a char function and a number to call. The only thing I'd change are a few tweaks in the UI but otherwise it does exactly what it's meant to and does it reliably.
