About this app

This app requires internet access to function, as it pulls the data from the University of Oklahoma's earthquake list on the web. As of 1.07, the app also requests data from USGS. This list isn't always up-to-date with earthquakes; from what I can gather, there are some limitations to OU's automated list.

Based on my own observations, it seems that OU's computers only add larger earthquakes automatically, while smaller earthquakes may need to be manually added by seismologists when they review the list (hence usually less reported earthquakes on the weekends).

This app is NOT an automated app (the user must run the app to obtain the list), NOR does it store any data on the device after execution, save for the new user tracker (used by tutorial) in version 1.05+.

Features of this app:
*Converts the time from UTC to your device's time settings.
*Google Maps integration to show where earthquakes on the list are in the State of Oklahoma.
*Color-coded pins for earthquake strengths.
*Click-able list of earthquakes (with color-coded magnitudes) to bring up the Google Maps location.
*Menu access to view all quakes on the list or just those in the last 24 hours.
*Estimated earthquake intensity radius per: B. Gutenberg and C. F. Richter. "Earthquake magnitude, intensity, energy, and acceleration: (Second paper)." Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, April 1956. 46:105-145.

This app is completely free as a public service to concerned Oklahoma citizens. There are no ads in this app, nor does it collect any information. It depends on OU's earthquake list, and will cease to function properly if this list is changed or removed.
