We have been in the third era of economic and social forms for several years now, the so-called information age. The ever-growing amount of information needs to be bundled and managed. Databases offer an efficient way to do this. The Java programming language is ideal for working with databases thanks to its integrated programming interfaces.
The course is based on the FernUniversität's basic course "Java - Concepts, Techniques and Programming" and requires basic knowledge of Java. It is aimed at the professional Java programmer as well as the ambitious Java amateur who would like to expand their knowledge to work with databases.
This course introduces the most important Java technologies for application development for databases (such as Oracle, MySQL and MS Access). In addition to JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) in combination with the query language SQL, the course covers the technologies JavaBeans and JDO (Java Data Objects).
The written exam can be written online or at a FernUniversität Hagen campus location of your choice. Once you pass the exam, you will receive a university certificate. Students can also have earned ECTS points certified for a Certificate of Basic Studies.
Further information can be found on the FernUniversität Hagen website under CeW (Center for Electronic Continuing Education).
