The National Army Taichung General Hospital was founded in 1946 and was based in Qingdao City, Shandong Province. It was named Lianqin 104 Rear Hospital. In 1949, it was reorganized by the National Army and moved to Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It was renamed Lianqin Sixth General Hospital. In the same year, it moved to Penghu County, under the Eighth General Hospital of Land, Sea and Air of the Ministry of National Defense. From 1950 to 1955, it moved to Taichung City and was under the Third General Hospital of Joint Logistics Headquarters. From 1955 to 1980, it was reorganized and subordinated to the 83rd General Hospital of the Army. In 1995, he moved to the current location in Taiping District, Taichung City. Since 1995, it has been reorganized under the Ministry of National Defense, and the name of the hospital has also been changed to Taichung General Hospital.
