In a sea of Texas holdem apps that try to turn the game into a full-length feature movie, or a competitive nightmare, this simple and fully functional version is very enjoyable. New issue though: ads are okay, unless they are trying to commit fraud. Some recent ads are very misleading, with no means of reporting them or showing different ads.

11/05/22 update - The game is repaired and seems to be working well again. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could (nothing is perfect). Previous comment - The last update broke the game. There is no Call button and the only options are Raise and Fold. I've been playing for a while now, but will uninstall if there is no fix soon. Update: I am unable to see the developer comments on my phone, but could in an email. Turning the phone sideways made no difference.

It says it has ads, but I cannot see them, which is a plus. The app is minimalist and reminds one of electronic poker games from the nineties. Great for practice and learning. If I could improve the app in one way, it would be to allow the player to turn the feature off that tells you the strength of your hand until after the showdown.
