About this app
substreamer is a completely free app to use with subsonic compatible music servers (subsonic, airsonic, navidrome, ampache etc). Your music when you want it, where you want it, online or offline.
Easily see newly added, recently played and most played albums or just grab a list of random albums or songs for something different.
Like that song? Play similar songs with a tap!
Discover new songs and old favorites by genre and time period with SubStreamer radio. Pick your filters and get a random generated playlist, just like radio without the ads!
Got a song stuck in your head? Sure that you have it on an album somewhere but just can't remember where? Just search!
Connect your subsonic server with your last.fm account and Substreamer can also tap into last.fm to give you more information about artists, songs and albums in your collection and recommend similar artists, similar songs or give you a list of the top rated songs in your own collection for you to explore.
Build up a play queue of your favorite rock songs and just hit save as playlist to have it stored on the server for later.
Of course you can also just hit your favorite album and press play.
Oh and if Music isn't enough we also support podcasts that you have synced with your subsonic server both online and offline!

Requirements:
Subsonic API compatible server (API level 1.13.0) or equivalent.
Note that for SSL support you must have a valid certificate. Invalid certificates will cause connection errors.

The new update is great. I love the radio options off of artists and songs. Very Sweet. My only gripe is that I like to keep tabs of my music on my phone and the folders its in. I like to use airsonic to download music to my phone and don't have to rely on an internet connection to have music always on my phone. Then listen to that music and the stats go back to airsonic. There is no option as to which folder the music gets downloaded to or to tell if a song is available locally on the phone. Also I can't find a way to download all starred songs. I really appreciate the hard work.

Offline Music and Offline Podcasts are listed in the menu, these list all of the songs/albums/podcasts/playlists that are stored offline
If you're offline when listening substreamer currently doesn't record the plays (on my TODO list)
Local/SDCard storage option is coming as is easy offline sync for starred songs

I really enjoy this app, it's definitely the nicest looking "x"-sonic streamer app I've used. However is there ANY possible to be able to shuffle the entire music library without a playlist size restraint? The mix it up playlist builder is great but the playlist is only like 20 songs which is definitely not enough for an 8 hour workday. Would be 5 stars if that feature was available. For now I'll have to use something else unfortunately as the playlist are all too short.

Next version has playlist recommendations and a random playlist generator added on the home screen, I will make the length of the random list configurable in settings (will default to 50). Keep an eye out for the next release.

Pretty, but has serious issues. Often fails to get album art that Airsonic can see and seems not to cache album art, which results in the classic broken image placeholder. Repeats songs well before end of song when set to repeat-one. Constantly requests run in background permission - there's no reason to have this permission at all. Remarkably slow even on the same LAN - must not cache much at all.

Hi sorry you’re having these issues can you get in touch at ghenry22.apps@gmail.com so I can do some testing with you? Substreamer will show any artwork your server returns and it does cache both music and artwork. The background permission is because some devices suspend in the background when playing music without it even though they shouldn’t.

Fix: Android vesions under 10 incorrectly prompting for storage access on start, causing failures on some devices.
New: Offline scrobbling. Play history is now saved when offline and pushed to the server when access is restored and offline mode disabled in the app.
