I had countless problems with the app. Why 4 stars. Firstly the service from the Goodwe support team was excellent after logging a support call with them. I experienced similar problems other users reported, BUT the problem seems to be backward compatibility between the app and the firmware version of the inverter. Goodwe updated my inverter from firmware v1717 to 2424. Now the app is responsive, shows all options and saves the data after making changes. I will monitor and update the post.

App does what it needs to but doesn't make it easy, If there was a way to let it connect to the IP address assigned to it in the network it's on, it would allow much more usability, and ease of access. The WiFi modules on the inverters aren't the best, and drop connection often especially while devices connected to its own hotspot, for setting updates.

The App is not the problem -it works ok. The problem is all the permissions it had access to. Why does the app need access to control the flashlight, volume and audio, camera, disable screen lock, pair with other bluetooth devices retrieve other running apps, download files without notification and so on. Looks to me like it is quite a detailed spyware package! !
