About this app

Tired of other flashlight apps that read your location, personal information, phone calls, and network activity and constantly bombard you with ads?

This app won't read any of your personal information! Go ahead and check. The only permission is for Camera (which is used to access your flash LED.) We value your privacy 100%. The best part? This app doesn't have any annoying sounds or advertisements.

To switch off the flashlight, simply tap the screen or exit the app.

There is also a contribution version of this App with the same exact features, but the money goes to more cool projects like this one.

******A note on the microphone permission

I want to address a recent issue that some users have been reporting to me about seeing a new permission show up for Microphone and Camera recordings. The truth is that I have not added any additional permissions to this app since the initial release. However, Google changed the way they display permissions to the users. The Camera permission is the one permission I've had since the beginning, and that's necessary in order to access the LED hardware. The reason Microphone is now showing up is that Google bundled the two together since that makes a lot of sense for anyone who makes apps that make use of the camera.

I know that for a lot of the users of my apps privacy is a huge concern but let me reassure you that my app does not take pictures or recordings. Even if it did, it does not have the ability to save any recordings (doesn't have the storage permission) or transmit any data through the internet. I apologize for any concern's that this may have caused.

You absolutely HAVE to read this review! (And once you read it, if you find that I'm accurately describing this app, please rate it accordingly.) This app does EXACTLY what it says, and NOTHING more. It doesn't look at your phone's information in any other way. No connection to the net. No spying. Nothing with sneaky, ultierior motives. It has a simple interface that allows you to turn on/off the flashlight LED on the back of your phone, and the face white. THATS IT! Support Honest Apps!

As I started to write permissions have changed. The app says Choose what to allow FLASHLIGHT to access. Camera. Then there is a camera icon is on the left. Then the text reads take pictures and record video and the permission is toggled on. If you toggle it off you get something saying this was made for an older version then takes you to a terms of service and privacy acceptance block. BE CAREFUL. Read the TOS. The app does work and it doesn't quit until you want it to

It does what it says it will do. Oh, it also describes what its functions are, & what substantive changes are coming in an update in the space provided by Google, here on the Play Store, so if a feature you depend on is being modified or destroyed, you may be disinclined to acquiesce to their request to download the latest version; That's your option. Google doesn't find such honesty & disclosure necessary for their own apps, never saying more than, "Bug fixes and orher improvements" REALLY??
