VVMF Mobile Tour is an app that allows visitors to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, in Washington, DC, interact with site using in a completely immersive way, using their mobile devices. The Mobile Tour uses augmented reality and geolocation technology to educate visitors on various elements of the Memorial, through videos, stories, a game and a first-of-its-kind 360 degree tour on the National Mall. It's purpose is to provide historical context about the site, share personal stories and honor the men and women who fought, died or remain missing in action.

This app needs some way to control the volume. Every time I change from one section to the next the volume on my phone cranks to full and the youtube video auto plays. This is very inconsiderate. I need to use this app volunteering at the moving wall in a couple of weeks and I would think we could be a little more sensitive towards people visiting. It even overrides the do not disturb setting on my phone.

This was very easy to navigate through. I helped a friend find his loved one. The pictures, the stories and it also shows all their ranks and tours they did. The ceremony they had when The Wall came through our town was absolutely breathtaking. Thank you again for all involved that day to make that day so very special for so many!!!

This Vietnam-era U. S. Navy veteran is very disappointed with the VVMF app. It requires access to my location and the contents of my phone before I can open and use it, which would violate my personal privacy. So, no...you MAY NOT have such permission. Uninstalled.
