About this app

A clean and simple universal music widget for Android 4.4+.

Ubiquity should work with any music player that displays controls and album art on the lockscreen (which is most music players, though some implement it poorly).

If you switch between different music players, you don't need to switch widgets. Just stop playing music in one app and start in another and the widget should switch.

As of version 2.0.3, all plus features are free and the source code is available on GitHub (github.com/jathak/musicwidget).

**Important**
This widget will not work until you go to Security>Notification access in settings and check "Ubiquity Music Widget"

Excellent idea and works very well. Needs a blacklist or a whitelist. Things like webpage or news feed videos keep hijacking the widget. Clicking the widget itself to open the default app should be less clunky: sometimes it opens the default; sometimes it opens the last used, even hours after playback has stopped. Should have an option to open the app currently in use, and if media is not being played, should then open the default.

I got a OnePlus 6t back in February, and I originally used this widget on my S7, so when I started moving stuff over, this was the one thing that didn't work. Just today I got a system update, I'm not sure if it was the update, or the software just becoming comparable, but it works again and I'm very happy it does. The other ones I had found did not work as well, or just didn't work. So, thank you for making this compatible with the OnePlus 6t!

UNINSTALLED! Simply did not work. It looked good; I installed it because it's transparent, and the native widget for Android Music does not give such options; it shows the album art, and only when that's available. But after placing the widget on the home page and setting it up to use Music as the default music player (it's the only active one on my phone), it was non functional; pushing buttons did nothing.
