It does what it should do, provided that you scan the tablet in very bright light. For some reason I was hoping the tablet would sync up with the phone via Bluetooth or something and upload the drawing. It does not do that. It essentially scans the tablet and gives you a black and white copy of what you drew/wrote. Keep the tablet in bright light to scan properly.

its really fun to mess around with but i agree with many people that the scanning feature should be tweaked and the cropping feature so your scans dont look like crime scene evidence from 1975 . it looks almost choppy... like you put a paper in a copy machine but didnt close the lid all the way. im excited to see improvements with the product though. ive never seen something like this so it can only get better

It only took ten minutes of messing around with the app to see that no, the reviews were not inaccurate, as much as I'd been wishing they'd be. The app all and all feels like something that was quickly slapped together with the bare minimum required to fulfill it's function as a scanner. The scanning itself often fails to capture the entire screen of the Boogie Board, even when it is perfectly flat and in a well lit room. The quality of the partial scans it does manage to take are abysmal at best. Even if one were to overcome these issues and get it to scan a decent image of the board, there are no functions that I could find that would allow the user anything beyond the most basic organization of saved "pages". At best you can presumably rearrange their order or delete them, but there were no buttons I could find to create folders or any equivalent feature to keep notes organized. so, to sum it up: It fulfills it's primary function poorly, and has none of the quality of life features one would expect from a modern image scanning app. I am disappointed in this outcome, given I have always been a big fan of the idea behind this app and other products like it. That said however, even if the official app is pitiful, I intend to keep using my boogie board and just save the notes with a more competent image scanner.
