Cabbie's Mate

The Cabbie's Mate app is the best A-Z map app for taxi drivers, knowledge students and people who enjoy using A-Z maps. No other A-Z map app provides comprehensive information and ease of use. We release updated A-Z maps twice a year, in spring and autumn.

This app is based on an annual subscription, which works out to 57p a week (standard subscription).

The Cabbie's Mate premium app now comes with a one-month free trial. Your free trial will end when you purchase a subscription; any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited.

The Cabbie’s Mate app has speed camera warnings, and TFL live traffic disruption information. The app saves your last 20 searches. Search by either voice or keyboard. Search for a street number, postcode or a poi within Great Britain using the additional online search function. Functions exclusive to the premium subscription include the ability to add your own poi's and multiple poi's to auto-create a multi-point cotton line route.

The A-Z map is linked to the Google navigation map. Simply select a destination on the A-Z map, tap on the 'N' navigation button, and your route will then be calculated on the Google navigation map, ready to navigate.

Cabbies Mate has two annual subscription options. Both options come with two map updates a year:

Standard subscription £32.99:
Includes the five latest A-Z maps and April release POI.

Premium subscription £43.99:
Includes the standard app above, plus 4 quarterly POI updates (POI updates are available in January, April, July and October).
Includes exclusive additional functions for knowledge students and taxi drivers.

Your annual subscription will give you access to our Cabbie's Mate Android App for one year from the date of your subscription.

Your subscription automatically renews annually unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal. Payment will be charged to your Google Play Store account at confirmation of purchase. After purchase, you can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal via Account Settings.

The Cabbie's Mate app will cease to work if the subscription is not renewed.

The download will require 2 GB of free space, a Wi-Fi or mobile network connection with data, and take 5-10 minutes, depending on connection speed.

Cabbie's Mate provides five A-Z maps:

Super Scale Central London map (street level)
Greater London map (street level Master Atlas)
Extended Greater London Main Road map
Great Britain Road Atlas
Admin postcode map

Greater and Central London maps have been customised by colouring more main roads around the City of London to assist with route planning, exclusive to our software. Our app contains the latest available maps, always displayed 'north up'; your current position is displayed as you move on screen while you drive. Switching between the five A-Z maps is a one-touch operation.

Our database contains over 40,000 up-to-date specially selected points of interest with complete postal addresses and postcodes. Most major hotels, embassies, theatres, stations and major landmarks are also shown on the Super Scale Central London map.

Your current position is clearly displayed on the map when connected to GPS. Having selected a destination, our A-Z app automatically draws a straight, as the crow flies, blue 'cotton line' from your current position to the chosen destination to facilitate route planning. Additionally, you can select an alternative start point on the map by pressing down by finger; the app will draw the 'cotton line' from there to your chosen destination.

The app includes centre GPS, zoom in/out, map switch, day/night mode, route plotting, eraser, info, navigation (N), trace and search buttons on the screen. A simple user manual is located under the 'i’ button.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
