About this app

The LibraryThing app allows LibraryThing members to catalog and browse their collections. LibraryThing is focused on books, but you can add most media, including books, DVDs and CDs. LibraryThing relies on data from Amazon, and over 65 million library records.

Add books by searching for them or scanning their ISBN barcode with the camera.

Add high-resolution cover photos of your books with the cover editor and browse your books by cover type to find copies that need better covers.

I agree with the others who have talked about the app crashing. It scans decently well, and I added lots of books in a short time. But it just spins if I try to look at the books in my catalog, or if I try to search them. Which is it problem because I want to use this so I don't keep accidentally buying duplicates. But if I can't view the catalog of books I have, that makes it kind of worthless. Hoping this is a short term issue and will be fixed.

I love the LibraryThing project. This app works reasonably well to scan barcodes to easily enter books into a collection. As others have stated, it's glitchy in that it sometimes enters the wrong book or enter duplicates. I also can't get it to add a cover image taken from my phone. It offers this feature but will not allow me to 'okay' the final image. It gets stuck there.

Great idea, but the app crashes. Like, a lot. Like, unusably so. Like, shockingly so. Like, embarassingly so. I've had it installed for literally about an hour and was able to scan a number of books. It's crashed probably half-a-dozen times during that period. My phone (Samsung) even alerted me: "LibraryThing keeps crashing." Not good, my dudes. Not good at all.
