While finnicky, I used to use the app for a couple years. Now I upgraded my phone and the app force quits every time. The horrible screen on the smoker is literally unreadable in the direct sunlight, so I can't read the temperature onboard. Thankfully I have other devices (that actually work) to track that for me. Yet another example of new tech making previously simple tasks arduous.

The first time I connected, it worked perfectly. The second and Following times I've connected, the app force closes on me. Oddly, I got it to work great when I turned on the VPN on my phone. I can't really make sense of it though, since this is supposed to connect via Bluetooth. When it works, it's really cool. However, for the most part, it's a pretty buggy app that rarely likes to connect without fiddling with it.

It is now 2024 and the app STILL SUCKS. Force Closes every single time. 😡 Absolutely Worthless! I've read the comments and every single thing everyone else is rating at "1" is point on. Love the smoker but don't buy it for the app. It literally cannot hold the connection and it is ridiculous the amount of time spent going out to hit that damn button to "try" to connect again. The meat is finished before you have successfully reconnected. I've uninstalled.
