About this app

McKellar Structured Settlements Inc. - Canada’s leading provider of structured settlements - is pleased to provide the McKellar Slide Rule application for Android TM. The McKellar Slide Rule is a “must have” application for anyone involved in the field of personal injury claims.

The McKellar Slide Rule is actually three calculators in one - a Life Expectancy Calculator, an Immediate Present Value Calculator, and a Deferred Present Value Calculator.

The Life Expectancy Calculator will provide the remaining life expectancy for the average Canadian of a given age and gender. As well, the calculator will display the number of years a person is expected to live between a given age and the earlier of age 65 or death. Either of these numbers can be carried over to the Present Value Calculator if desired.

The Immediate Present Value Calculator will provide the approximate present value of a future annual income stream (paid monthly) for a given term and discount rate.

The Deferred Present Value Calculator will provide the approximate present value of a future annual income stream (paid monthly), taking into consideration the deferral period, for a given term and discount rate.

Our Present Value Calculators include a section for calculations using the Ontario Discount Rate, pre-set discount rates between 1% and 5%, plus the ability to enter your own discount rate between -10% and 10%.
