About this app

Multi Moment Analysis (MMA) is the statistical technique for determining the proportion of time spent by workers in various defined categories of activity. It permits quick analysis, recognition, and enhancement of job responsibilities, tasks, performance competencies and organizational work flows.

In a Multi Moment Analysis (MMA) study, a large number of observations are made of the organisation over an extended period of time. For statistical accuracy, the observations must be taken at random times during the period of study, and the period must be representative of the types of activities performed by the subjects.

One important usage of the Multi Moment Analysis (MMA) technique is the determination of the standard time for a manual manufacturing task.

History:
L.H.C. Tippett a British statistician is generally considered as a mental father of the multi-moment analysis. Since 1927 he was investigating in his “Snap reading method of making time studies”. He examined for example downtimes in a weaving mill with personal coincidental tours with paper and pencil and detected that a relatively small number of samples is sufficient in order to enter the actual downtimes within the organization with amazing accuracy.

C.L. Brisley discovered 1952 that multi-moment analysis are applicable not only for industrial investigations but also on the investigations of office activities.
