About this app

SmokeFree app is the tool you need when trying to quit smoking. You will slowly reduce the amount of cigarettes per day, keep your cessation stress and nicotine cravings in normal and let you body adapt to less cigarettes daily, until you completely stop. But still, the most important thing is your desire to stop smoking.

Why should you try this method?
This app provides method that is different from just saying "I won’t smoke anymore". That’s really hard. Reduction of nicotine, and stress from no-smoking are coming in small doses here. The app itself is helpful. Not pushy or accidentally judgemental like the other quit smoking apps. But the biggest problems are 1) notifications don't seem to work and 2) The super awesome widget (my fav feature) is useless because it doesn't update unless you go into the app, and sometimes not even then. Which kind of makes the widget useless.

So far, I have been able to keep track of how much and how often I smoke, which is what I needed. I like the timer too. As far as the settings go... if you setup your goals incorrectly, then try to edit the info on a later date, it starts your progress all over, and you're back to day 1! It didn't erase my previous data, but what's the point if it doesn't count it towards your ACTUAL progress. ??? Doesn't make much sense to not be able to edit setup info. Oh, and the ads... ugh.

All in all, I'm thankful for this app. It's the only thing since Quest cigarettes (anyone remember those?) that has ever really helped me. I love that it allows for either fully quitting or simply reducing how much you smoke. The interface does have a learning curve, but once you get it, it's very helpful. Changing your program does start you back at day one, but if you do it in the middle of the day, it will at least save how many cigarettes you already logged that day. If/when you do that, you can always reset the program to fewer days while you're at it, so you end up quitting by the desired date. You will lose progress history from your previous settings, but it doesn't have to take you any longer to quit/reduce, and you won't be missing any of that day's cigarette count. The app also includes editing options for your history, in case you accidentally tap the smoke button or forgot to do so for one. Unfortunately, despite the description stating the latest update included a notifications bugfix, I'm having the same problem others have mentioned with notifications. They don't push, they don't use the tone I set. I was hoping to use notifications with a defined notification tone to help make smoking more Pavlovian and less urge-based. I've set everything I can think of on my phone and in the app to allow the notifications and make them work, to no avail. More stars if they really, truly, and fully fix it.
