As an ex-pat living in Addis Ababa this app is better than just hailing taxis. I like that the price is shown to you before you get in the cab. HOWEVER, it is annoying that even after you identify your location via the app the driver calls you (usually 2x) to ask where you are standing. If the app tells them where you are then why must U repeat it? This should really be unnecessary. When I’ve used Uber/ Lyft in other locations there is no need for confirming my location. Plse solve this.

Dear Kenneth,
We ask drivers to verify locations because due to weak network some areas might cause a mistake identifying the exactocation. Also, put in mind that street names are not common in Addis and sometimes it is difficult just to follow the map. Hopefully this will improve in the future. Cheers,

If 5 or more ppl ride is a bit of a hustle. I reserved early, but drivers keep cancelling for no reason. I call 82## number about 6 times. They charge you 5 birr every time you call that number. It makes no sense for me to pay 5 birr to give them my business and cancelling my appt when there is 5 min left to pick up is ridiculous. I had to be rude to get someone to show up. We almost missed our flight. Calling them costed us close to trip charge. Avoid if time is an essence. I am owed a refund!

Only works if you can describe the way to your location well. Drivers want to confirm the location by phone and don't trust the map. I often get drivers who cancel. That's why it's easier to call the number of a reliable driver who knows your location.

Dear Franz, we apologize for the inconvenience. If you are using our app, please confirm your exact location upon ordering and tell driver to follow the map to get to you. Usually due to network problem pickup locations are registered wrong and drivers are required to confirm before taking off. Please email us at support@ride8294.com for more help
