About this app

MonkeyMote gives you a full-fledged wireless music remote control for your Android phone.

It fully supports the popular foobar2000, MediaMonkey 4, Winamp, AIMP 2 & 3 and JRiver Media Center media players.

The app connects to the media player running on your Windows PC via your WiFi network and allows you to view information about currently playing tracks and control every important playback feature.

Key features:
• Playback control
• Display song information, lyrics and cover art
• View and control the current playlist
• Load playlists from your library
• Browse and search your media library and queue songs
• View and set song ratings
• Equalizer control (not supported for foobar2000)
• Save multiple connection profiles
• Small, fast, low resource usage, minimal permissions
• Easy to setup and use

All you need to do to get it working is to download and install the plugin installer for your media player from www.monkeymote.com

In case you run into problems when setting up the app or plug-in, please visit the support page at www.monkeymote.com first.

Please note that the automatic server discovery feature requires at least Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is not supported by all devices. It is disabled by default on devices that are not running at least Android 4.4 due to an operating system bug that can trigger reboots on some devices.

Additional features are planned for future releases.

There's also a free version with a slightly reduced feature set: MonkeyMote Music Remote Lite

This app functions very well. There are just not enough functions. From the current playlist, one can neither go directly to the currently playing artist or the current album. My biggest gripe is rather about the size of the album cover. It might as well be an icon. Just move it to the left of the scrolling menu. Altogether too much room is spent on the current playlist. Plenty of room for the cover as well as the playlist. Also, the app not rotate to portrait mode! Not good. Only worth 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐.

Nice app that works. It is annoying that there is no way to jump from folder list to cureently playing view (to adjust volume for example) and to come back to the previously drilled down folder. One has to come out of the folder list entirely and only then can access the volume and track controls. On iPad this app works as it should, however. Please add this improvement to the android app and I'll gladly change the rating to 5 stars. Thank you in advance!.

This is a critical piece in my house audio system. I use AIMP 5 on a PC and an Aventree Bluetooth transmitter to listen and control music on both levels of my home. If I add a 2nd Aventree then I can stream audio to four different areas of my home. This software gives me access to my entire library of MP3s along with internet radio. I can control the volume and even interact with playlists. The developer is very responsive. This allowed me to get my music throughout my home inexpensively.
