The texting services it provides is mediocre at best. Scripted, with a range of helpfulness. Some are great, some are not, and all of them type super slow. The first person I talked to suggested scheduling recurring counseling sessions (why I tried mySSP in the first place) and despite getting confirmation emails, two different counselors didn't show up. This app honestly caused me more problems than it's worth. I would've recommended it in the past, but not anymore.

I was immediately told that students are only allowed to use this service at one time during their entire course of attending classes and that you will be barred from attempting to reach out if you ever have issues crop up again. I was not asked my user password or security question but was instead immediately turned away despite being in the middle of a severe depressive episode just looking for advice. it only made my episodes worse.

This is my fourth time trying to talk to a "counsellor" on this app. 3/4 if those times that I managed to actually connect to one, they didn't respond after the first, "hello how can I help you?". Each time I wait no less than 30 minutes for a single response that doesn't come. 3 other times I've been told I'd be contacted when someone was available (during a time where things were too busy) but to recieve no notifications or anything despite being explicitly told that I would be called.
