About this app

*From the team at ORIGINATOR - the creators of the beloved Endless Alphabet, Endless Reader, and Endless Numbers.... Originator is a team of passionate artists and engineers dedicated to the best education+entertainment apps for kids.*

As the next delightful app in the Endless series, Endless Wordplay sets the stage for spelling, word building, and wonderful rhymes! This app introduces key spelling patterns and phonograms that are important for beginning spellers and early writers. Written English can be complex and confusing, and Endless Wordplay reinforces spelling rules and variations using rhymes and a fun, progressive learning path.

Kids will have a blast learning spelling patterns and phonograms with the all-new Alphabot and the beloved Endless monsters. Each lesson reinforces a spelling and phonetic pattern using a sequence of rhyming word puzzles with letters that come alive. The rhyming words then lead to entertaining and illustrative animations that are as fun as they are educational.

Features:
- 3 spelling lessons (9 words) free to try with additional lessons available for purchase.
- The delightful lessons presented by Alphabot reinforce spelling and phonetic patterns in a fun and interactive way.
- Animations bring the rhyming words to life and reinforce definitions and usage.
- Endless Wordplay was designed with your children in mind. There are no high scores, failures, limits or stress. Your children can interact with the app at their own pace.

This app is an engaging way to help kids learn the basics of spelling. However, it's missing a couple things: 1. It needs a more enticing gameplay loop. The basic rounds of 3 words are good and he enjoys the example sentence and animations, but it's not enough. My kid gets bored quickly and won't do more than 2 scenes at a time. Maybe some kind of prize given every 3 scenes? 2. Algorithmic spaced repetition is essential. The app needs to remember how long it's been since the user reviewed a previous scene and offer some reward to revisit it. The more trouble placing letters the user has, the sooner it should show that scene next time. After a few times visiting the same scene, if the user makes no mistakes in placing letters, then the scene can be given a gold star or something to indicate it's mature knowledge and the next review can be in weeks or months. Anki has an excellent system for spaced repetition and it REALLY WORKS. [1] the first word's letter outlines should probably be turned off for these review scenes

This app is great! My 2 year old has been learning letters and their sounds. So great during lockdowns. It keeps him entertained and he gets really excited about the longer words. I especially like that you can touch almost anywhere on the app and get a response. He loves discovering all this app has to offer. My only issue is that the sound for "L" is weird -- it sounds like "wawa" which is a little confusing for the kid.

My toddler is obsessed! As an early childhood teacher I love the interface and the fact that it encourages not only the letter names, but the sounds as well. My only complaint, and it's tiny, is that with the location of the home button often gets pressed by accident. Hoping to see more languages available as well (specifically looking for Swedish, with my bilingual little)!
