This is the latest edition of the Food Scanner app and is an opportunity for you to try out our new features within the application whilst we still build to improve the functionality over the following months.

We are using Augmented Reality within the app that brings to life what’s inside your food and drink right in front of your eyes! There are certain limitations depending on what device you have and if your device supports ARCore. If it doesn’t not to worry we will show you a 3D scenario instead so you won’t miss out on all the fun.
The app is based on the most widespread data available to us. We're continuously working to improve it and we're adding more and more products all the time.
The nutrient data in this app is supplied by Brand Bank and Food Switch.
The number of sugar cubes, sat fat and salt sachets shown in app are based on grams per pack/100g/ml/portion when that information is available.
The weight of one sugar cube is equal to 4 grams
The weight on one sat fat lump is equal to 1 gram
The weight of one salt sachet is equal to 0.5 grams

The app just doesn't work. You line up the product and take 10 minutes for it to scan. Most likely come up with "we don't have this product, can you help us" ect. All I did was scan a milk bottle 😳. The design of the layout did look good, and could have been easy to use.... Only if it worked. I did look at the comments after downloading and I see I'm not the only one who's seem to be struggling with the scanning. I do hope they fix the bug, this app could achieve so much

It's a good idea but the app has too many bugs to be useful. It frequently freezes my phone. It gives useful information on food products, but many items have no dats or are not found in the database. The swap suggestions are sometimes daft. Why would I want to swap a curry for a pasta sauce?! I won't be using this app but might try again later. It needs work.

It is very simply to use this app, however some issues make it impossible to use it properly. The best thing is that it shows about the scanned product the major health issues: sugar, salt and saturated fat; The application show us the most important things. The first concern is that it is very difficult to scan the products. The second concern is, that in the store struggling to use it, and when I tried to scan dozen of products unsuccesfully, the security asked me to leave the store...

We are continually looking to improve your experience. This update contains under the hood improvements and bug fixes. You may also notice some minor design tweaks to improve accessibility and subtle font updates across the app.
