The Recycle Right app assists residents in the Perth metropolitan region and Avon Valley to understand which bin to put rubbish in, as well as providing drop-off locations for items that don’t belong in the kerbside bins.
*Which Bin – find out at a glance, what goes in which bin along with what doesn’t belong there and the correct methods of disposal.
* Materials A–Z – this searchable, extensive A–Z provides advice on which bin to put items in as well as great tips to re-use or recycle. The A–Z list allows users to choose the relevant list for their area, whether that’s 3-bin FOGO, 3-bin GO or 2 bin system.
* Find My Nearest – find your nearest drop off or recycling facility in Perth for items such as batteries, car parts, building/demolition waste, hazardous household waste and more.
*Bin Day Reminders – set reminders so that you never forget which bin goes out on what day for your area – no need to check which bins the neighbours have put out! Note: Currently, this feature is automatic for Resource Recovery Group Member Councils (City of Fremantle, City of Melville and the Town of East Fremantle) and manual for other council in the Perth Metro area.

Defaults to Albany (I'm in Vincent) after changing. No Calendar for your area. ie just gives "alternate Thursdays" for non Fogo. Reminders default to "Day Before" "7am" after changing to a preferred option.

Hi Brian, Apologies for the inconvenience. Could you please delete and then reinstall the app? This sounds like an issue we had some time ago, which was fixed with the latest update. If that doesn't solve the problem, please feel free to reach out to us at hello@recycleright.wa.gov.au

The app has great potential. I'm in city of Cockburn. Had to select Fremantle instead. Looking to recycle normal size batteries. A local store with ease of drop, as opposed to a large recycle facility would be good. Also gave me first options of Bunbury and Busselton recycling centre and a more local facility a scroll down the list. Nearest to me and convenient stop for handful of batteries would be 5 star. Keep working on it and I'll keep checking :)

Please select ‘Other Council – 3 Bin GO’ in the My Council section of the app as this is the bin system used in Cockburn. Fremantle is on a different bin system. For the Find My Nearest tool to provide results for your closest drop off locations you will need to enter your address. Otherwise it provides all results available in alphabetical order.

A good app to get started with, especially for working out which bin to use. it may not have all the councils on there but it is a good start and id like to see more available in the future. some items when surched for where tricky to find, eg. halogen light globes (only covered fluro). The 'find you nearest' HHW function didnt work, only showing my location. I'd definitely use this app if it fixed these issues.
