Best for finding trails in any area. Mapping a route can be a big help in areas you don't know well. It's not strong for social interaction, although it's getting better. Its strength is in mapping and routes populated by users. Tons of different heat maps and trail descriptions, shows elevation and all the useful data. GUI for ride results can use important.

Update: Added a star because they made the free version more usable for us "poors". Thanks for that :) Still $60 a year is insane for an app. Also MTB Project is better for navigating on trail. Wish there was a cheaper option. They received all the trail data from users for free, now charging way too much for it, maybe if there was a $5 option for when I only need it for a week or two while on a mtb vacation

Sorry to hear you're unsatisfied with the need for Trailforks to introduce a Pro subscription to access the full app experience. This blog post answers some of the criticism around the Pro option, data access & user contributed content https://bit.ly/30Cj51h

Gets worse all the time. When I try to look at trails elsewhere I'd like to ride, the map automatically recenters to my current location. And when I use it on trail, no matter which setting I select, the app won't stop rotating and re-orienting the screen according to where the GPS arrow is pointing. It's annoying and hard to look at. Why do I pay for this?
