Православне чудотворне иконе

- An icon (Greek εἰκών - image, cheek, performance) is an image that shows respect for the painted person (Lord Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, angels and other saints), and not the material from which the icon is made. They are made of various materials ivory, enamel, mosaic, marble, silver and gold, and are often painted with colors on a wooden background, with the image of Jesus Christ, the Virgin, other saints, angels or other events related to the history of the church and the Holy Scriptures. They are present in all Orthodox temples, where they are placed on iconostasis and walls. "Icons are built into the developed iconostasis according to certain church canons."
Today, when an unbeliever stands in front of an icon, he stands in front of it with the feeling that he is in front of a historical and artistic treasure. For a believer, the icon has a much deeper, more life-giving meaning, he stands in front of the icon as if in front of a window that sees and depicts the Kingdom of Heaven.
- The goal of this program is to get acquainted with Orthodox miraculous icons, their historical and religious significance for the Orthodox Church, as well as for Orthodox Christians in general, and to understand how much role miraculous icons have played in the Orthodox Church today. Of course, to show how much faith, hope and love were placed not only by church dignitaries, but also by the common people, as well as military leaders who relied more on the help and grace of miraculous icons than on their own army, as is the case in to the Russian people, as in the case of e.g. icon of the Most Holy Mother of God of Kazan or Vladimir and other miraculous icons.
- There are many Orthodox miraculous canonized icons in the whole world for the glory of God, so this program is limited.
- The program shows Orthodox miraculous icons from the Holy Mount Athos, Serbian and some from the Russian Orthodox Church.
