About this app

PaloAlto311 is a multi-platform solution for providing Palo Alto residents, businesses, and visitors access to a set of local government-provided services, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. With this smartphone app, service requests such as reporting a street issue is easily submitted by completing a short description of the request. A picture of the issue can be included in order to provide additional details. The app will automatically know the issue location and will ensure that the issue is sent to the appropriate department at the City. The submitter will be able to track the request all the way through its resolution right from the phone.

Nice concept, but can't login with Facebook. It always gives an error.

The app is effective at reaching the City of Palo Alto, but still has several really annoying bugs: 1. If you enter text, and then upload a photo, the text you previously entered disappears. When you try to re-enter it, the gray text which prefills the text box doesn't disappear when you start typing 2. It isn't possible to enter a location which doesn't have a street address, such as along a bike path, or inside one of the larger city parks like Foothills or the Arastradero Preserve 3. The photos you upload showing what needs to be fixed don't seem to make it to the people who actually try to do something. As a result, they're not useful for helping city workers understand exactly what the issue is. For routine, easily described issues at a location with a street address, this app works nicely, but for anything else, it's faster and easier to call it in.
