About this app

Hate remotes? PUCK it!

Control your home from your phone. The PUCK remote app removes the need for individual remotes to offer a seamless, integrated solution for home interaction. Place the PUCK® hardware on or near your infrared (IR) device and program the device into the PUCK remote app to have full control over your device from your phone. PUCK® works with thousands of devices, including DVD, BluRay, TVs, Soundbars, IR Ceiling Fans, IR curtains and many other IR devices!

Hello PUCK. Goodbye, remotes.

Note: This app uses an external Bluetooth LE to IR (Infrared) module (PUCK®) that provides for simple exchange of infrared remote codes. The app must be paired with the PUCK® hardware to be fully functional.

Got the Puck, installed the app, and started connecting devices. As with most multi-remote systems, finding the right code group is cumbersome, not the app's fault, per se. Range to the targets is limited (longer battery life) but I was able to get consistent results at 5ft. Four stars for: - very small, unobtrusive design - clean app UI - fair effective range - low cost and no subs Minus one star for: - static remote screens (nice to have custom buttons) - 1 connected user at a time

So far I love the puck 2. Brings remote control back to my phone! The app needs some serious development. First thing to fix is button repeat. I have to press the volume button 25-30 times to lower the volume on my sound bar. You should be able to hold the button and have it repeat. Fix that and a little more customization (like button placement and volume punch through) and they have a winner!

Bought 4 pack. was interested in a generic bluetooth to infrared device to override hotel LG tvs using installer codes. Alterative was a usb device for pc. This concept was a deciding factor. However... the bluetooth is weak and slow to connect, its a peer to peer on demand system, and the infrared per their faq has a 3-5ft range. I have no where to mount it with a wall mounted sony bravia to make it work. app sucks, faq is 1 year outdated. disappointed. guess usb or wait is my options.

Blake, would you be willing to try PUCK model 2? I've made a lot of improvements to the hardware that might change your mind. It's now Bluetooth 4.2 and connects much faster. We gained battery life and were able to increase the range of the infrared as a result, to about 15 feet. I'd like to earn back your trust!
