About this app

Worlds Kaleid creates amazing kaleidoscopic images using your camera, turning everyday images into geometric works of art.

• Choose from dozens of kaleidoscopic patterns. Radial, periodic, Droste, 3D and more.
• Choose how to warp your pattern (for periodic tilings).
• Choose your source image (front camera, back camera, photo or video from gallery, or provided sample images).
• Slider to alter parameters for some patterns and warpings.
• Swipe to rotate, zoom or pan. Choose whether swiping changes the pattern or the source image.
• Release while swiping to keep motion going.
• Take snapshots, saved to your gallery in the new WorldsKaleid album.
• Twist tilings into infinite rings or spirals, then zoom in endlessly! Only app on Android to do this?
• Dipole rings and spirals too. Only app to do this.
• Both linear and exponential rings/spirals. Only app to do this.
• Inversion warping. Only app to do this.
• Droste effect, to spiral an image into itself.
• Both 2D and 3D kaleidoscopes!
• Original image appears in corner with outline of region used.
• Lots of controls and a button to hide them all if you don't want clutter.
• Ability to hide the UI entirely, then you can use your phone's screen capture app to record videos.

I've tried to make this the most powerful kaleidoscope app available. Let me know what other features you'd like to see. And please contact me with any problems before giving a bad review. Bad reviews damage the product and my ability to support it.

Excellent product. Very fun with infinite possibilities. Attention developer: It plays Gifs and MP4 both, like it did in previous version, only the previous version looped the source perfectly and seamlessly, your current version loops very glitchy and skips. This phenomenon occurs after loading source material and moving through the different kaleidoscope variants. It appears to play smoothly when first loaded but if you change kaleidoscope pattern it glitches. It was after update this occurred

Can you email me directly and send me an example GIF? I tried one that didn't work at all. Do MP4s have same problem for you? I use Unity which isn't supposed to even support GIFs (animated or not). It was never an intended feature of the app, though it would be nice. I did move to a newer version of Unity which may have caused a difference.

I'm giving this app a stellar review. Best Kaleidoscopic app I have used in a long time! One thing I would like to see is a setting that would allow the moving Kaleidoscopic image to be recorded as an MP4 video.

In version 2.1 you can long-hold on the bottom left hide-UI button to completely hide ALL of the UI, including the camera button and the hide-UI button itself (use your devices back-button to bring it back, may need to swipe up from bottom to access it). You can then use your device's screen-capture app to record video.
