I downloaded this to update my power meters firmware. It has been unable to do so, consistently failing partway through or at the beginning, with the error message "firmware update failed. Lost connection." Admittedly I have a very new phone(note 9), but even then this is pretty basic stuff and I'd like to think it's not my phone that's causing the issue. I like my Power meter and it still works fine on 2.0.83 firmware, but I would like to update it.

For those having trouble connecting their power meter to the Stages app, make sure location services on the phone is turned on. The app won't find the power meter if it's not. Unlike other apps, such as Strava, the Stages app does not display a request to activate location services if it's turned off. it's up to you to make sure it's on.

Won't connect with PM, application installed on Moto X4, phone can see PM but application continues to search on the 'Discover Devices' screen. Location and BLE turned on. Stages contacted via email, seems disinterested in helping to resolve the problem. Their suggestion was to get another stages device to check connection. EDIT: wont connect when installed on old Blu J2 android 6 phone either, stuck on "Discover Devices" portion of the app. Also, why does Stages need access to my photos, contacts and files on my phone? Starting to look like Stages wants to harvest user data and sell it to someone.
