At least with the previous form of this app the article would show fairly quickly. If you read it fast before the top half was covered it wasn't too bad. Now with this new 5.4 version that has been forced on us you can click the article and nothing happens except the click sound. I used to read the CBS app first, then you started covering it with videos and now it barely works at all. Great improvement, you can keep it, I will read NBC. Are you really trying to drive everyone away?

Great news! We've adjusted the size of the video player in articles. Easily move the player anywhere on the screen by tapping the top-left corner and dragging, or close it by tapping on the X at the top-right. Please update to the latest version of the app 5.4.2 . We hope you'll let us know how your experience has improved by updating your review.

Too many adds and videos that pop up over the news articles, adds\video difficult to close without opening them up. If you attempt to scroll through the story\article the pop up video covers what you want to read and follows as you scroll. If I don't click on the video then I don't want to see it! When attempting to read the videos are rammed down your throat and you must stomach the subpar reporting. These videos becomes extremely aggravating as you use the app and ruin the user experience

While I still respect CBS News reporting, they charged the app recently so that an ad and then video content are locked at the top of the screen, covering half the content. And half the time the video is not the same as the article you're trying to read. Yes, it's possible to close the video after the ad has played, but it's extremely frustrating.

We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along to our product team. To close the video player, just tap on the video to pause and then tap on the X in the top right hand corner to close.
