The RYOBI GenControl App allows you to pair your phone with your Ryobi RYi2300BTA Inverter Generator using Bluetooth technology. The app will wirelessly show the real-time fuel level, load level, and remaining runtime of your portable generator. The app also enables remote overload reset, and remote shutdown from your phone. The information displayed in the App is identical to the information displayed on the LCD screen of your generator. parallel function is also supported by the GenControl App.

3 years of ownership of a pair of these gens and thousands of hours! They both still start on the first pull and have been very reliable. The only downside is that I too, have had issues with shutting down the gens with the app. They start shutting down but right before they stop completely, they start back up. The only reason I can think of why this might be happening, is that with this many hours, the motors have started to 'loosen' up, so they spin a bit longer on shut down than the app's timer is set for? Not enough of an issue for me to deduct a star but I would still like it to work. Update 11/2021: 4 years and still going strong!

it used to work great, but now as the generator is powering down, right before it totally shuts down, it revs back up, so the shut down fails! It's so frustrating because now I have to run outside in the pouring rain to shut it off manually! I've deleted and re-downloaded it several times. Tried re-pairing it many times! Nothing works! It was the biggest thing I liked was being able to shut it down from inside! I use the generator as my sole power source! update 6/4/19: Yay! The app it wrking 😃

The only thing that is useful on the app for me is the shut off feature which allows you to shut down the generator using the app. however after a few months of use when I try to shut it down using the app it shuts down 95% of the way and then restarts. I've tried putting an electrical load on it and still no luck. Not sure if this is an app or generator problem but either way very annoying.
