CGS Global Communication for the Deaf is a service created by the Integration Segni - Lazio that allows deaf people to communicate freely with everyone!

Thanks to funding from the City of Rome, the service is free for all residents deaf in Rome.

It can be used in several ways: SMS, WhatsApp, DTS, Chat, Email and implemented with the new ITA-LIS-video interpreting system as well as to be used by all Deaf citizens.

Operators are all interpreters LIS professionals.

The service works through a platform accessible both via web and through an APP.

The deaf person, after registration, can communicate with a hearing person by choosing the most suitable instrument for your needs (computer, tablet or smartphone) -.

The services that you can choose from are:

• Relay Service (RS): a bridge "service" for everyone who are deaf, via SMS, WhatsApp, DTS, Chat, Email can communicate with the interpreter, who called the hearing requested.
• Video Relay Service (VRS): a service "telephone bridge" dedicated to the deaf who use the LIS. The deaf person can activate a video communication with the interpreter which, in turn, call the number required. Citizens can then mark in LIS and the interpreter translates, by phone, by LIS Italian and vice versa.
• Video Remote Interpreting (VRI): a video-interpreting reservation service. This service allows deaf people to have an interpreter available directly from your phone, tablet or PC and support negotiation talks remotely (eg. Public offices, doctor visits, school talks, and so on.).
