About this app

An app for Astronomy and Astrophotography enthusiasts. MySiderealTime is a useful Sidereal Clock utility to assist you while you use your telescope and mount during your astronomy viewing session or for your night of astrophotography. The local sidereal time is displayed in hours minutes and seconds in 24 hour format. The local time is also displayed, and by tapping the local time, it will toggle between 12 and 24 hour formats. Latitude and Longitude can be displayed in either decimal degrees or in degrees, minutes, seconds. Tapping the Latitude and Longitude display will toggle between formats. The display defaults to night vision mode as to not disturb your night vision. For viewing indoors or in bright sunlight, the display can be switched to day vision mode by tapping on the sun icon. The display can be switched back by tapping on the moon icon. The device GPS sensor is used to determine your exact location so the correct Sidereal Time can be displayed along with your latitude and longitude coordinates. The display will also show the current GMT, your local offset from GMT, and if (DST) Daylight Savings Time is in effect.

This is a simple app that does a good job at calculating LST. However, it's nearly impossible to read the tiny dark red font on the black background except in total darkness. Would be 5 stars if the font color and size could be adjusted.

Once you allow access to your location it uses location and time to give you LST, and shows zone time and location accurately. The red on black screen is indispensible for use in the dark, as in the observatory or in the field. It starts fast on my Samsung phone.

Excellent, but would be even better if it could get daily notifications for a specific time since you can't just use a set time on your email calendar. 13:30 reminders would probably interest many users.
