A bit of Info on Madal:

The Madal (Nepali: मादल), used mainly for rhythm-keeping in Nepalese folk music, is the most popular and widely used hand drum in Nepal. It is used by Nepalese and cultural folk musicians all over the world in countries like United States, Australia, India, Pakistan,Bangladesh,Spain,South Korea,Cyprus, Mexico, Portugal, England, Norway, Russia. Madal is widely used in nepalese festivals like Holi , Dashain , Tihar , maghe sakranti , shiv ratri ,Krishna janmastami, Teej etc along with local picnics , marriage , farewell programs etc.

The Madal consists of a cylindrical body with a slight bulge at its center and heads at both ends, one head larger than the other. It is usually played horizontally in a seated position, with both heads played simultaneously.

This typical Nepalese percussion instrument is the backbone of most of Nepali folk music (sangeet) such as lok Dohori, Adhunik geet ,Nepali Songs,Nepali Movie songs,Nepali Pop Songs, Teej Songs and Geet, Dheusi Vailo, etc. Nepali Bhajan kirtan played during puja and darshan use Madal as percussion instrument. The other musical instruments played along side madal are Guitar , Piano, tabla, Harmoneum , Basuri (nepali flute) , Sarangi , Damphu ,etc

Madal is also a name of another drum used in Bengali culture Bangladesh and Kolkata for eg: Dhamsa Madal, Mridangam.
The well-known Nepali musician Ranjit Gazmer introduced this instrument to Bollywood music, when he started working under Rahul Dev Burman, and has used it in numerous Bollywood songs such as 'Hum dono do premi duniya chhod chale', 'Kanchhi re kanchhi re' and many others.

The new version is quite better in terms of sound, but I recognized that the sound, and side are vice versa. The one with hogher pitch should be smaller in size ,but it is the opposite case here. Also, there is a tone "dhang", which is formed by the combination of dhing and tang. It is not available here.

All are good but as a musician I need more variation on tones, changable major chords as songs play ... But other wise this app is good for kids only...
