For people who complain about it not working or messages not being delivered instantly. 1. Disable DHT proxy 2. Disable push notification 3. Enable Jami to be run in back ground. 4. Visit your phone's battery optimisation and make sure Jami is not optimised for battery - if not the phone will kill the app and when you reopen the app to send - nothing happens 5. Enable TURN 6. Disable STUN After doing all this - it will work like a charm unless you have some other network issues. There are bugs but the app is stable and does the job. For people complaining about images/files not being transferred - drag and drop doesn't work - it is a known bug. So as a work around you can go to the file using file explorer on Android choose the file and share using Jami - this works.

Has big potential, it has everything you would expect a chat app to have besides group text chats at this time. From trying it out on a Pixel 2, it didn't significantly impact battery life while still receiving push notifications. The desktop app has a rather large minimum window size however, and sent messages only appear on the device you send from. Received messages work fine though.

I had to leave a review because this app has gone downhill. It defeats the purpose of a messaging app. You want to message someone in real-time without having to pay texting or data, especially if they live overseas. I have undelivered messages 90% of the time. Support. There's no support unless you're a GITLab developer. They don't respond to emails and their support on Twitter is awful. They're one of the few companies who doesn't allow DMs on there.
