Data protection and transparency: NO DATA TRACKING for data service providers
In the course of implementing the EU GDPR, we - in contrast to other online services for comparing fuel prices - have reconsidered the data flows in fuel detectors and have come to the conclusion that we will not integrate any third-party programs for tracking movement data in the future. Accordingly, we ended a field test with a corresponding provider and removed the corresponding program libraries with the fuel detector version 2.4.2. Even if you have already consented to the use of your transaction data, these will no longer be recorded when the new version is installed. We still collect some of your (anonymous) usage data, but this is used to improve our app and is in no way passed on to third parties. Feel free to read the data protection declarations of other service providers before you decide in favor of us.


How does this work?

The fuel prices are reported by the petrol stations to the Federal Cartel Office (market transparency office) when there are price changes. As an official partner of the Market Transparency Center for Fuels (MTS-K), we have real-time access to the fuel prices provided there (currently E5, E10, diesel) from around 14,500 German petrol stations and make them available to you via our MobileApp. According to our observations, the data quality is very good, although of course the gasoline prices shown at the gas station still apply in the event of deviations. In this case, you have the option of submitting a report to the Federal Cartel Office using our MobileApp. We also receive the prices for CNG (bio-methane / natural gas). As experience has shown that these remain fairly constant, they are updated once a day. The usual kg prices for CNG are listed in the fuel alarm.

For autogas or LPG, prices are only available if they have been recorded by other users! Please do not confuse LPG with CNG. We currently only have automatically imported prices for CNG in fuel detectors. LPG prices are only provided by attentive users.
